Meet a professional who will help you achieve your linguistic and cultural goals!

( BeeBoo) Hi Roya ! Thank you for giving us your precious time for this interview.  How long have you been an English teacher for children in Geneva? What is your background? What teaching methods do you use?

( Roya) I’m Roya Caviglia. I gained my teaching qualification from Cambridge University in the UK. Since then I’ve taught English for more than 20 years while living in several European countries (UK, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands). My 2 children were born in the Netherlands and now we’re raising them with 3 languages in Geneva – English, Italian and French. I’ve specialised in focusing on communication with babies and I know how to meet toddlers where they are to maximise their learning opportunities.

I know how hard and isolating having children abroad is. My daughter was a toddler during the worst of the pandemic. I love to help families truly enjoy the transition to parenthood. You can create a super strong bond with your baby and raise a multilingual child with ease and joy.

– When will the English classes you’ll be giving at PoP. Pins Academy? For which groups? How many students per class? How long will the courses last?  How much will it cost?

Classes will be at Pop.Pins on Friday afternoons (16:45-19:45) starting in mid-September 2024. We’ll have classes for children from 2-10 depending on demand. We keep our classes small – maximum 6 children, often less. We do not offer private lessons, only group lessons because it’s important for children to have opportunities to speak and play together in English. However, we love small groups so our teachers can get to know your child and their personal interests. Every lesson is designed for the unique children in the class.

Each lesson is 45 minutes plus a 15 minute optional social moment for the parents to meet and get to know each other and the teacher. There is a separate space at Pop.Pins for parents to stay and wait comfortably while the lesson is happening.

Class subscriptions include resources that families can use to make using English together an every habit (digital online materials, videos etc). The classes are 227chf per month (siblings can join at 200chf per month).

– Since when have you been teaching babysign? When will the worshops take place, for what audience? and how much does it cost?

I have taught baby signing for nearly 10 years. I have developed my own method which is a fantastic support for families who want to raise their children with several languages. We will have in-person baby signing workshops for child care providers at Pop.Pins starting in September.

In November I will launch an updated version of my online baby signing video course – the Infant Communication Toolbox – with bonus monthly Zoom and in-person sessions in downtown Geneva. This course is for English speaking parents who are expecting a baby and parents with a new baby (younger than 2 years old).

The course subscription will be 227chf per month. Parents will learn how to create a family language plan, baby signing, newborn body language and communication techniques for easy toilet learning (elimination communication).

You can create a super strong bond with your baby and raise a multilingual child with ease and joy.

More about my story and why I created this course for new parents here (video in English): https://www.instagram.com/p/C7g0sW6PcZb/

I have a free gift for families here

When they sign up for the free gift, they will automatically receive the announcement when enrollment is open for the Infant Communication Toolbox

 Thank you very much Roya!
