BeeBoo likes to recruit and offer families nannies who have experience or knowledge of baby yoga and all the other ancient methods that are good for our babies (massage, communication…)
Our babies love new experiences and one of the gentlest ways to strengthen their bones and muscles is to practice baby yoga, accompanied by a gentle baby massage. This discipline uses movements and stretches designed for babies to promote their wellbeing and psychomotor development, but that’s not all!
What is baby yoga?
Baby yoga is based on slow, gentle movements that stimulate a baby’s physical and emotional development. Combined with baby massage, the practice has been handed down for generations in Asia and India and is now becoming increasingly popular in the West. Its many benefits for the wellbeing of babies are well known.
This practice is gentle and playful for babies and their parents, maternity nurses or nannies. It stimulates the child’s physical, emotional and sensory development while strengthening the parent-child bond. This form of yoga adapts specific postures and movements to the abilities and needs of young children.
The postures you need to know
The movements suggested in baby yoga are designed to develop coordination, balance and body awareness in babies. For example, poses such as ‘little koala’ or ‘butterfly’ encourage babies to explore their motor skills while having fun. These exercises also help to improve digestion, relieve tension and promote better quality sleep.
It is important to practise it in a safe environment, respecting your baby’s rhythm and responses. Each session should be a positive, stress-free experience in which parents and/or maternity nurses listen to their baby’s needs and limitations.
