The upcoming Pop.Pins Academy for home nanny training in the canton of Geneva, scheduled from September 21, 2024 to January 11, 2025, offers a rewarding and flexible experience for aspiring childcare professionals. Adapted to the busy schedules of our students, this training takes place every Saturday, enabling the acquisition of new skills without interfering with other commitments. The comprehensive program covers the essential aspects of the profession under the tutelage of seasoned professionals. Module 1: Supporting child development
September 21: Child development, motor skills, awakening, sensory (Speaker: Pauline Vigeant)
“Understand how these aspects interact to influence growth and learning in children. You’ll be able to decipher, among other things, why they run around, even after a five-minute nap!”
September 28: Children’s sleep, fear of the dark, the role of cuddly toys, attachment theory (Speaker: Anais Magnin Szymanski)
“Say “Goodbye” to night terrors and “Hello” to naptime superstars! Learn how to become children’s best ally in their quest for security and comfort!”
October 5: Creative animation, an introduction to educational pedagogy (Speaker: Pauline Vigeant)
“To make creative games, tell stories and nursery rhymes with a touch of magic and apply positive educational pedagogies like Montessori.”
October 12: School support, positive discipline, active listening (Speaker: Pauline Vigeant)
“You’ll learn how to respond to children’s needs with the wisdom of a Buddha.”
October 19: Universal emotions, emotional and social development, language acquisition (Speaker: Pauline Vigeant)
“You’ll learn how to survive a crying fit in public, and why their first word is very often “no”.
Module 2: Hygiene, Health and Safety (3.5 days)
November 2-3: Hygiene rules, accident prevention, stress management (Speaker: Pauline Vigeant)
“Avoid pitfalls like a Ninja! You’ll learn the rules of daily hygiene, how to prevent domestic accidents and how to manage stress to avoid burn-out”.
November 9: First aid, emergency care for newborns, eating habits (Speaker: Anais Magnin Szymanski and an external organization)
“Participants earn a first aid certificate, learn how to care for a child and manage newborn emergencies! You’ll also learn all about managing food allergies and intolerances.”
November 16: Childhood illnesses, the parental relay role (Speaker: Pauline Vigeant)
“Childhood illnesses and common infections are also covered. You’ll also learn about the role of “parental relay” in the event of illness.”
Module 3: Legal framework (0.5 day)
November 17: Employment contracts, working hours, vacation entitlement, accident/sickness management, practical aspects (Speaker: Vaïluna Daligault)
“Thanks to this module, you’ll be ready to solve practical cases with the same confidence as Mary Poppins when she opens her umbrella to leave her cloud and reach terra firma!
We’ll tell you all about the employment contract, working hours, overtime, vacation entitlement, accident and illness management, payroll accounting, social insurance, ending the employment relationship, and issuing the work certificate.”
Module 4: Nutrition and home care
23 November: Conflict management, alternatives to punishment, positive discipline (Speaker: Anais Magnin Szymanski)
“This module focuses on the importance of listening to parents and managing conflict. You’ll be able to rely on alternatives to punishment that will make you look like a positive discipline wizard!”
November 30: Baby food, dietary diversification, breastfeeding (Speaker: Pauline Vigeant)
“You’ll discover the art of feeding a baby with methods like child-led dietary diversification (CDD) and support breastfeeding with the ease of a professional.”
December 1: Daily management, environmental health, laundry and premises maintenance, children’s cooking (Speaker: Pauline Vigeant)
“You’ll learn how to make life easier for parents by managing laundry, shopping and cooking dishes for little gourmets and big gourmands alike!
This module teaches you all about nutrition, special diets and all the Féé Logis tricks of the trade!”
Module 5: Communication & interpersonal skills – Professional posture (2 days)
December 7: CV writing, job search techniques, contract negotiation, professional development. Knowing and recognizing your qualities for a successful interview with families (Speaker: Vaïluna Daligault )
Know and formalize my motivations to talk about myself.
Know your strengths, areas for improvement, limits and values, so that you can be serene in your professional posture.
The importance of listening to the parent, his/her expectations and needs, in order to make the link with his/her strengths.

Analysis of practice, why? how? pedagogical, open-minded and questioning objectives.
Practice cnv, seek hypotheses for understanding, propose solutions.

Pop.Pins Academy final exam

The training concludes with a final exam to assess the skills you’ve acquired.
